Starting September 2017, Sunflower will be opening a Chinese after school program located at Princeton Charter School. The students of the program will be offered a coherent sequence of Mandarin Chinese classes from Kindergarten to 6th grade level in mastering basic skills of listening, speaking, reading and writing. While our curriculum is designed to be academic-oriented with a specific goal for each grade level, our classes are conducted under a relaxed and social setting where the students learn Chinese through games, songs and other activities. Our after school program is open to all the students who are interested in learning Chinese. The program has two classes per week and each class is one hour in duration.
Chinese after school program at PCS has the following classes:
Level 0: Study of Chinese as foreign or second language for non-native Chinese speakers
Level 1-2: For students who are entering 1st of 2nd grade in Chinese school or other equivalent Chinese programs
Level 3-4: For students who are entering 3rd and 4th grade in Chinese school or other equivalent Chinese programs
Level 5-6: For students who are entering 5th and 6th grade in Chinese school or other equivalent Chinese programs
Level 1-6 will be using textbook series from Ma Li Ping. Level 0 will be using textbook series from Easy Steps to Chinese for Kids.
